Seeking Sewers for Historic Clarksburg (Photos)

The Montgomery County Council and County Executive Ike Leggett on April 18 announced a joint effort to secure “affordable” sewer service for the historic district of Clarksburg.

Council President Craig Rice (front right) and County Executive Leggett (front left) signed a letter urging the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission to work with the dozens of property owners along Route 355 in Clarksburg to make the sewer project financially feasible.

Among those at the ceremonies at Novel Books in Clarksburg were, left to right: Patrick Darby, owner of the bookstore; Councilmembers George Leventhal and Nancy Floreen; David Stein, president of the Clarksburg Chamber of Commerce; Councilmember Marc Elrich; 62-year Clarksburg resident Joanne Woodson; and Betty Buffington.
