Schools Seek $14.5 Million Restored to Budget Request

Superintendent Jack Smith and School Board President Shebra Evans called on the Montgomery County Council on Thursday to restore funding the school system sought in its fiscal 2020 budget request. They spoke at Smith’s monthly press briefing.

County Executive Marc Elrich shaved $14.5 million from the Montgomery County Public Schools’ request. Elrich released his proposed fiscal 2020 budget request last week. It now goes to the council who can make changes as they see fit.
