Sarbanes Visits with Council (Photos & Videos)

Montgomery County Council members met with U.S. Congressman John Sarbanes on Jan. 29 in the 6th floor conference room of the Council office building. MyMCMedia’s Sonya Burke reports.

The informal discussion and lunch included news that Sarbanes is preparing to open a Burtonsville office on National Drive. Sarbanes noted that outreach was extremely important to him and beginning in March of 2013 his staff will begin monthly outreach sessions at the White Oak Senior Center, Longwood Community Recreation Center, East County Community Recreation Center and Marilyn J. Praisner Community Recreation Center.

During the hour long meeting, Council members stressed their priorities to the Congressman with transportation funding being number one.  The budget, gun control, immigration, sequestration,  manufacturing, energy, solar power, infrastructure, WMATA and campaign financing were among some of the other topics also discussed.
