Shostakovich Project II: Piano showcases the talents of Jessica Osborne, whom the Washington Post called a pianist “with refreshing mellowness and poetic touch.” She has performed throughout the United States, Europe and Asia, including performances in such venues as Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center’s Terrace Theater and Concert Hall, and the Seoul Arts Center.

The Shostakovich Project II concert is part of Arts on the Green’s sfz salon series, which offers great music paired with fine wines and stimulating conversation between concert goers and musicians. This season’s series explores the music of 20th-century Russian composer Dmitri Shostakovich, featuring chamber concerts paired with films that he scored. The beautiful and intimate setting of the Kentlands Mansion lends warmth and richness to the event as series curator Alex Peh provides fascinating background information during the performance and points out the noticeable contrast between Shostakovich’s government-sanctioned works and his more artistic compositions.

The sfz salon series presents concerts that are a fusion of classical, contemporary and experimental chamber music in an intimate salon setting. An inspirational, creative sanctuary for both artists and audience encouraging great music and lively conversation.
