Rockville’s Hometown Holidays (Video)

Rockville’s Hometown Holidays will take place on Memorial Day weekend from May 25 – 27 in Rockville Town Center. The three-day street festival features numerous entertainers performing on five stages, the Taste of Rockville, kids activities, community performances, and the Memorial Day Ceremony and Parade.

The festival is located in Rockville Town center which is walking distance from the Rockville Metro Station. Free parking is available throughout Town Center. Locations include the Council Office Building on Fleet Street, Metro lots, City Hall lots, and the lots north of Beall Avenue. Paid Parking is available for a flat fee of $5 in the Town Square, Rt. 355 and N. Washington Street garages during the hours of the festival. Attendants will collect the money at the garage entrance.

Hometown Holidays Schedule

  • Saturday, May 25, 1-10 p.m. Market Place, Taste of Rockville, Kids Activities, Live Entertainment.
  • Sunday, May 26, 2-10 p.m. Market Place, Taste of Rockville, Kids Activities, Live Entertainment.
  • Monday, May, 27, 9 a.m.-12 p.m., 2013 Memorial Day Ceremony and Parade

Taste of Rockville participating restaurants include Ambrosia, Armand’s, Bean Bag, Bob’s Noodles, Buffalo Wild Wings, Carmen’s, Cava/Sugo, Chef Geoff, Dawson’s Market, Fresh Market, Happy Popping, Hilton TwinBrook Grille, La Tasca, Matchbox, Oro Pomodoro, Potomac Pizza, Rocklands Barbecue and Grilling Company, Seasons 52, and Spice Xing. Tickets for food will be $1.25 each, with most menu items costing between one and four tickets each.

Memorial Day Ceremony and Parade include Rockville Concert Band and Chorus at 9 a.m.; Memorial Day Ceremony with wreath laying, 21-gun salute, presentation of colors at 9:30 a.m.; and Memorial Day Parade at 10:30 a.m. The parade’s Grand Marshal is LTJG Steven R. Simmons is the Grand Marshal. ABS 7’s Brian van de Graaff will serve as emcee for the parade.
