Rockville’s Fitzgerald Theater Debuts Online Ticket Sales
Arts patrons in the Rockville area can now purchase tickets for a show at the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre through an online ticketing system at www.rockvillemd.gov/theatre.
The theater and the City of Rockville recently partnered with Tickets.com to establish the new online ticket sales system. Among Tickets.com’s other clients are the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts, Medieval Times and Major League Baseball.
Currently on sale at www.rockvillemd.gov/theatre are:
- Gilbert and Sullivan’s “Ruddigore” (eight performances from June 11-21, presented by the Victorian Lyric Opera Company)
- “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas” (eight performances from July 10-26, presented by Rockville Musical Theatre)
Single tickets will go on sale July 1 for the following shows:
- “The Great Gatsby” (Oct. 2-11, presented by Rockville Little Theatre
- “Footloose” (Oct. 30-Nov. 15, presented by Rockville Musical Theatre)
- “Lend me a Tenor” (Jan. 15-24, 2016, presented by Rockville Little Theatre)
- “Our Town” (April 29-May 8, 2016, presented by Rockville Little Theatre)
Free performances, such as the upcoming “Video Game Music in Concert,” presented by the Washington Metropolitan Gamer Symphony Orchestra, do not require tickets.
“Video Game Music in Concert” is at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 6 and is supported in part by funding from Montgomery County and the Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County.
The F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre, in Rockville’s Civic Center Park at 603 Edmonston Drive, is used primarily by community theater groups and professional touring companies. The theater and its social hall are available as rental venues for public and private events.
