Rockville University Begins in October
Rockville residents are invited to sign up for Rockville University, a free, six-week citizen awareness program sponsored by the Mayor and Council and the City of Rockville. The 2013 session begins Oct. 16. The program provides a behind-the-scenes look at how the city government operates through workshops, presentations and tours with City staff.
Rockville University seeks to create resident awareness of and access to community resources, cultivate new civic leaders, demystify local government, and provide networking opportunities amount residents.
Rockville University is open to any Rockville resident age 15 and older who is curious about the dynamics of their community and likes hands-on learning. Class size is limited to 30 people and participants must be able to attend most of the six classes held between Oct. 16 and Nov. 18. Child care will be provided on-site and free of charge during weekdays sessions.
