Rockville Resident To Present Free Workshop on Social Security Planning for Women
A Rockville resident is scheduled to present a free workshop on Social Security planning for women at the Germantown Library on May 14 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Kristin Michel Rodriguez, a financial advisor with more than 15 years of experience, will talk about the top five mistakes women make when filing for social security benefits.
“Montgomery County is a place where people do try to educate themselves but is a government program. … [And] it is not that sort of thing that is easy to grasp,” Rodriguez said.
According to a news release, the program is sponsored by the National Endowment on Financial Education- a nonprofit organization that helps families and individuals on the financial decision-making process.
Rodriguez will review the social security program, talk about how it favors women followed by a question-and-answer session.
“Come bring a friend and come with questions bring a piece of paper to write down ideas. … If people really want to talk about their own situation I offer free consultation. I am there to provide education; it’s not a sales kind of environment.”
Rodriguez is a registered representative of Cambridge Investment Research, Inc., a Broker/Dealer and a member of FINRA/SIPC- Financial Industry Regulatory Authority and Securities Investor Protection Corporation.
The library is located at 19840 Century Boulevard in Germantown. To request accommodations or for more information, contact the Germantown Library at 240.777.0110.
