Rockville Receives National Communications Award

The City of Rockville was recently honored with an award from the City-County Communications & Marketing Association (3CMA) at the organization’s annual meeting in Scottsdale, Ariz. Rockville won a Silver Circle Award (second place) for its communications campaign promoting the 25th annual Hometown Holidays festival in May 2013. Among the materials the City submitted for consideration in the category of “Special Events: Recurring Event” were press releases, posters, postcards, social media posts, television previews and more.

The Hometown Holidays communication and marketing effort involved Rockville’s Communication Division and Special Events staff.

About the Hometown Holidays campaign, the 3CMA award judges remarked, “Solid event through and through… Teamwork and talent shine, way to go with stretching dollars.”
