Rockville Police Say Thief Makes Clean Getaway with Laundry Detergent

Rockville Police StationA man entered a business and took six containers of laundry detergent, according to the Rockville Police crime log.

The thief entered the business, in the 1500 block of Rockville Pike, between 7:10 p.m. and 7:18 p.m. March 7, and went straight to the laundry detergent aisle, police said. The thief placed the detergent into two shopping bags and left the business without paying for the items, police said.

The man is described as 5 feet 9 inches tall, 170 pounds, slight build, brown eyes, very short black hair, mustache and hair under lower lip with medium brown skin tone.

Arrests

On March 10 between 3:28 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., a 35-year-old woman was arrested for possession of CDS-heroin and possession of CDS-paraphernalia, after an incident near Maryland Avenue and West Argyle Street.

On March 7 a request was submitted to the Montgomery County Police Department’s Special Victims Investigation Division for a 17-year-old girl to be charged with theft, after an incident on March 4 in the 1000 block of Rockville Pike.

On March 13 between 3 a.m. and 4:22 a.m., a 44-year-old man was arrested for second-degree assault, disorderly intoxication and reckless endangerment, after an incident in the 15900 block of Frederick Road.

On March 16 at 9:03 p.m., two men, ages 56 and 61, were arrested for possession with intent to distribute CDS-heroin, after an incident in the 300 block of Farragut Avenue.

On March 18 at 9:09 a.m., a 48-year-old man was arrested for failure to obey a lawful order, disorderly conduct and trespassing, after an incident that occurred in the unit block of Taft Court.

On March 18 at 10:03 p.m., a 22-year-old man was arrested for first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, possession of a dangerous concealed weapon (box cutter) and disorderly conduct, after an incident in the 700 block of Hungerford Drive.

Incidents

100 block of Wootton Oaks Court, the complainant reported that someone removed two wallets containing cash and credit cards from their home between 4:17 p.m. Feb. 28 and 5 p.m. March 9.

400 block of College Parkway, the complainant reported that she was sexually assaulted by a known subject on March 9.

1600 block of Rockville Pike, the complainant reported that two men entered a business on March 16 between 8:08 p.m. and 8:13 p.m. The two removed five designer handbags and eight pairs of designer sunglasses and left the store without paying for the items. The burglars are described as both about 25 years old and 5 feet 10 inches tall. One was 175 pounds, medium build, brown eyes, blonde dreadlocks/twists, medium brown skin tone, and last seen wearing a green knit hat, black hooded sweater, black jeans and blue denim jacket. The other was 170 pounds, thin build, brown eyes, short black hair, medium skin tone, and last seen wearing a black ski pants and a black Helly Hansen jacket.

1800 block of Rockville Pike, the complainant reported that two men entered the business on March 18 at 11:31 a.m. The two removed several bottles and bars of soap and left the store without paying for the items. They were last seen walking in the direction of the Twinbrook Metro Station. One of the men was described as 180 pounds, medium build, and last seen wearing red/black/white sneakers, tan khaki style pants and black coat with brown fur on the hood. The other was described as 6 feet tall, 180 pounds, medium build, and last seen wearing a black hat with green writing, blue jacket and dark blue sweatpants.

1500 block of Rockville Pike, the complainant reported that someone removed a solar arrow board from a construction site between 4:14 p.m. Oct. 15, 2016, and 4:10 p.m. March 10.

14600 block of Southlawn Lane, the complainant reported that someone removed a vehicle from a business between 2:40 p.m. Nov. 7, 2016, and 2:40 p.m. March 7.

1100 block of Higgins Place, the complainant reported that someone removed a cell phone from a delivery package between 6 a.m. March 3 and 1:28 p.m. March 8.

800 block of Hungerford Drive, four men wearing all black clothing gained entry by prying the front door at a business on between 2 a.m. and 2:10 a.m. March 5. Once inside, the four forced open an office door and removed a safe containing checks and a camera. Two men are described as being 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds. A third man was described as 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 180 pounds. The fourth man was described as 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 200 pounds.

15200 block of Shady Grove Road, the complainant reported that someone removed a purse containing a driver’s license, credit cards and cash from a vehicle between 10:10 p.m. and 11:10 p.m. March 8.

1800 block of Rockville Pike, the complainant reported that two men wearing black clothing and backpacks entered the business on March 9 between 7:46 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. Once inside, they removed several bottles of body wash and placed them in their backpacks. The thieves exited the business through a rear exit. The men were last seen fleeing, one in the direction of the Twinbrook Metro and the other in the direction of Rockville Pike.

100 block of East Argyle Street, the complainant reported that someone removed a wallet containing a driver’s license, credit card and cash from an unlocked vehicle between 7:30 a.m. March 10 and 9 a.m. March 11.
