Rockville Police Report Robbery Arrest

Rockville Police StationThe following items were reported in the Rockville City Police weekly crime report for Jan. 29.

Arrests

On Jan. 17, a 23-year-old man was arrested for attempted robbery and second-degree assault, after an earlier incident that occurred on Dec. 7 in the 600 block of South Stonestreet Avenue.

On Jan. 24, between 2:24 a.m. and 3 a.m., a 26-year-old woman was arrested for disorderly conduct, after an incident that occurred in the unit block of Maryland Avenue.

On Jan. 24, between 5:15 p.m. and 5:35 p.m., a 33-year-old man was arrested for second-degree assault, intoxicated endangerment, and disorderly conduct, after an incident that occurred in the 1000 block of Rockville Pike.

On Jan. 26, between 10:07 p.m. and 10:50 p.m., a 72-year-old woman was arrested for trespassing and failing to obey a lawful order, after an incident that occurred in the 1300 block of Piccard Drive.

On Jan. 26, a request was submitted to the Montgomery County Police Department’s Special Victims Investigation Division for a 17-year-old male and two females, 16 and 17, to be charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon (baseball bat), theft, and second-degree assault, after an earlier incident that occurred on Jan. 19 in the 400 block of College Parkway.

On Jan. 28, between 4:04 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., a 47-year-old man was arrested for trespassing, after an incident in the 700 block of Hungerford Drive.

Incidents

In the 500 block of Bonnibelle Place, an unknown person tried to gain entry by trying to break a rear window at a home, between 8:30 am. Jan. 21 and 8:30 a.m. Jan. 28. No entry was made.

In the 300 block of Elmcroft Boulevard, someone reported that an unknown person removed power tools and manual tools from an unlocked vehicle, between 8 p.m. Jan. 18 and 10 a.m. Jan. 19. This incident was reported to the police on Jan. 24.

In the 400 block of Fleet Street, a person said he was robbed between 1:30 p.m. and 1:35 p.m. Jan. 19. The complainant said he passed two unknown people, and one engaged him in a conversation. The victim then was struck a few times and one of the robbers went through his pockets, taking his cell phone and skateboard. One robber had Afro-style hair and wore a camouflage jacket. There was no description of the second robber.

In the 14000 block of Cove Lane, someone broke a storage door lock at an apartment complex between 3 p.m. Jan. 23 and 10:46 a.m. Jan. 24. Nothing was taken.

In the unit block of Bently Court, someone entered through an unsecured basement window, on Jan. 24  between 9:45 a.m. and 3:39 p.m. Once inside the unknown suspect removed two iPads, jewelry and a television.

In the 300 block of North Washington Street, a man reported he was with two others between 6 p.m. and 6:10 p.m. on Jan. 25. The three were consuming alcohol, when one of the others, assaulted the complainant, taking his cell phone and money. The robber was last seen fleeing the scene in the direction of the Hungerford Drive Giant Food Store. The assailant is described as 6 feet tall, 170 pounds, skinny black dreadlocks. He was last seen wearing a burgundy or maroon shirt and black pants.

In the 500 block of Hungerford Drive, the complainant reported that a thief removed two bags containing clothing and personal care products from a locked vehicle, on Jan. 26 between 2 p.m. and 3:15 p.m.

In the unit block of Maryland Avenue, the complainant reported that a thief removed a cell phone from a locker, on Jan. 27 between 5:25 p.m. and 5:45 p.m.

In the unit block of Maryland Avenue, the complainant reported that a thief removed a pair of designer sunglasses that had been left unattended on a table at a restaurant, on Jan. 29 between 8:15 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
