Rockville Police Arrest Two for Burglaries (Photo)
Rockville police have arrested two subjects and charged them with burglarizing a garage and thefts from vehicles.
According to a city news release, police received calls from concerned citizens in the area of Maryland Avenue, Great Falls Road and Rose Petal Way on Nov. 13 about two suspicious people walking between houses and looking into vehicles.
City officials said police responded and found two males leaving a property in the 200 block of Autumn Wind Way. In addition, officials said officers recovered from the subjects property stolen from a garage and nearby vehicles.
Police arrested and charged Ronnie S. Land, 20, of the 1600 block of Crawford Avenue in Rockville, with one count of fourth-degree burglary, one count of theft less than $1,000 and one count of rogue and vagabond. He is being held at the Montgomery County Detention Center on $5,000 bond.
A 16-year-old juvenile was charged with one count of fourth-degree burglary, one count of theft less than $1,000 and one count of rogue and vagabond, police said. He was released to the custody of a parent, according to police.
“This is an excellent example of citizens being very aware of what goes on in their community and immediately reporting any suspicious activity to the police,” Rockville Police Chief Terrance N. Treschuk said.
