Rockville Needs Volunteers to Track Bicyclists

The city of Rockville needs volunteers to help count bicyclists and pedestrians around Rockville as part of the National Bicycle and Pedestrian Documentation Project. The project aims to have more accurate counts of bicyclists and pedestrians to measure the positive benefits of investments in these modes of transportation.

Volunteers are needed for shifts on three different dates:
September 10 from 5 – 7 p.m.
September 11 from 5 – 7 p.m.
September 14 from noon – 2 p.m.

Interested volunteers should contact Kevin Belanger, the city’s bicycle and pedestrian coordinator, at 240.314.8509 or email kbelanger@rockvillemd.gov.

Rockville was recognized as a Bicycle Friendly Community at the Bronze level by the League of American Bicyclists in 2012. This award recognized biking in Rockville as a sustainable, healthy and equitable mode of transportation and recreation.
