Rockville Launches Engagement Website
The city of Rockville launched a new public involvement initiative this week, Engage Rockville, in an effort to increase opportunities for communication with the public.
Engage Rockville seeks input from the Rockville community on a wide range of topics related to the quality of life and city services in Rockville now and in the future. The first major topic Engage Rockville will explore is the City’s Comprehensive Master Plan update, which will set the Rockville’s vision and goals for the next 30 years.
By joining Engage Rockville, you can participate in an online conversation with city staff and other community members. Ideas and feedback regarding Rockville’s future will be taken into account as the master plan update progresses. Members can add ideas, photos and videos and use the forum to interact much like they would in a face-to-face meeting.
Some of the initial topics for discussion on Engage Rockville grew out of conversations and ideas shared during the Rockville Summit process. The Rockville Summit, which convened in the fall of 2011 and 2012, brought together members of Rockville’s residential, business, government and nonprofit communities to begin an ongoing dialogue about the city, the regional economy and Rockville’s future.
The city invites you to join the conversation by visiting www.rockvillemd.gov/engage to sign up for a free account. New topics will be introduced periodically and you will have the opportunity to read and comment on other members’ ideas, so be sure to check back regularly.
You can also follow the progress of the Comprehensive Master Plan update at www.rockvillemd.gov/masterplan or by contacting the Community Planning and Development Services Department at 240.314.8200.
