Rockville is 10th Most Diverse Small City in America

In a recent study conducted by WalletHub, the City of Rockville ranks tenth most diverse small city in America.

Earlier this year, WalletHub’s analysts compared more than 500 of the largest cities across the  country to rank the Most Diverse Cities in America. Rockville ranked 31st overall but tenth among small cities.

“Diverse small cities benefit from new and innovative ideas, which can lead to economic growth, and an overall openness to attract new comers,” Jill Gonzalez, WalletHub analyst said.

Experts, however, said while Rockville ranked highly in terms of overall diversity, they did not fare well in Economic Diversity, ranking 389th.

“This means that the income inequality gap is still noticeable in Rockville, which isn’t too surprising considering its proximity to both Baltimore and D.C.,” Gonzalez said. “City leaders can help to lessen this gap by varying the industries that Rockville jobs are associated with.”
