Riderwood to Host 2nd Annual Veterans Expo Nov. 7 (PHOTO)
Veterans Day provides Americans with the opportunity to say “thank you” to men and women who have served our nation in the armed forces.
On Friday, Nov. 7, Riderwood will host its 2nd Annual Veterans Day Expo to commemorate the sacrifices of veterans and provide information to them and their families.
With residents from Riderwood, members of local military service organizations have been invited, and the event is free and open to the public.
Additionally, students from John F. Kennedy High School will form the Color Guard.
Representatives from local agencies and service organizations such as the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Maryland Relay Service and the National World War II Memorial will be present to provide information on veterans’ issues.
Riderwood is located at 3140 Gracefield Road, Silver Spring. The doors of Maryland Hall will open at 10 a.m. for breakfast refreshments; the program will begin at 10:15 a.m, and the event will last until noon.
