Ride On Will Offer Temporary Free Bus Services
Ride On buses will be free starting Monday, March 16.
The Montgomery Countyh Department of Transportation (MCDOT) announced it will temporarily suspend fare collection for riders of the county’s Ride On bus services. Montgomery County Councilmember Tom Hucker shared the news on Twitter, explaining that passengers will board via the rear door in order to limit interactions between passengers and bus operators. The front doors will only be used for the disabled who need a lift to get inside the bus.
This comes as a response to COVID-19 concerns. “The changes are being implemented in addition to precautions already implemented by Ride On, including the rigorous and increased sanitation efforts of every bus on a daily basis,” according to the press release.
