‘Ride On’ To Unveil New Bus Design and Kick Off ‘Give and Ride Week’
Ride On will be rolling out 26 new buses featuring a new design on Thursday. The unveiling comes during Ride On’s 32nd annual “Give and Ride Week” which allows riders and residents to donate food for the Manna Food Center in exchange for a free ride.
The new buses are said to have to a dynamic blue, green and white wave paint scheme. The buses will also feature 23 compressed natural gas buses, three diesel buses and four electric buses scheduled to come in Fall.
The program will benefit the Gaithersburg Manna Food Center which donates food to the 32,000 hungry county residents and provides food bundles for elementary school students and their families for the weekends.
Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich, County Councilmember Sidney Katz, County Director of Transportation Al Roshdieh and Manna Food Center Chief Executive Officer Jackie DeCarlo are expected to help kick off Give and Ride Week, which will run from Sunday, April 28, through Saturday, May 4. The kick-off ceremonies will be held in the traffic circle adjacent to the County Executive Office Building at 101 Monroe Street in Rockville.

“Many people only think of helping those in need during the winter holidays, but we are glad to be part of this tradition that reminds us that there are people in this County who are hungry all year round,” said Elrich.
Even if you are not a rider, you can still donate food to any Ride On bus operator or Manna Food Center location.
