Rice Urges Residents to Attend Stormwater Project Meeting on Jan. 14
Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection officials will meet with residents of the Seneca Park area of Germantown to explain planned improvements for existing stormwater management ponds at Plum Gar and Wheatfield.
The meeting is scheduled for Jan. 14 at 7 p.m. and will be held at the Plum Gar Neighborhood Recreation Center.
The Plum Gar Neighborhood Recreation Center is located at 19561 Scenary Drive in Germantown. The meeting will be held in the Social Hall.
Montgomery County Council President Craig Rice, who represents District 2 which includes Germantown, is urging local residents to attend the meeting.
“Residents of this area should go to this meeting to not only learn what improvements are planned by the Department of Environmental Protection, but also to offer inputs to those plans,” said Council President Rice. “This is the stage of the process to let the planners know about things they may have not considered.”
The ponds are located in the Seneca Park and the Seneca Park North neighborhoods. Concept project plans for improvements to both ponds will be presented.
For more information about the plan and the upcoming meeting, residents can contact Darian Copiz at 240.777.7774 or at darian.copiz@montgomerycountymd.gov .
