Rice to Hold Upcounty Meeting on Oct. 8

photo of Council President Craig RiceMontgomery County Council President Craig Rice, who represents District 2 that includes much of the Upcounty area including Germantown, Clarksburg and Damascus, is scheduled to meet with residents starting at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 8, at Rocky Hill Middle School.

Among the issues he will provide updates on are opening of Holy Cross Hospital in Germantown, the future outlet mall in Clarksburg, business development in the Upcounty area, roads (including the congested Route 27) and schools.

The meeting will be held in the cafeteria of Rocky Hill Middle School, which is located at 22401 Brick Haven Way in Clarksburg.

“With about 30 percent of the County’s population living Upcounty, the area has been developing at a rapid pace,” said Council President Rice. “Upcounty residents are concerned with issues that affect daily living such as congested roads and overcrowded schools, and we need to make sure the Upcounty gets the attention it deserves. We know that residents have a lot of thoughts about the future of their communities and this community meeting will be a great opportunity to talk about them.”
