Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for Senior Housing in Germantown Set for Dec. 20
Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett will join other county leaders for a ribbon-cutting celebration at Churchill Senior Living, Phase II on Dec. 20 in Germantown.
Churchill Senior Living is an independent senior living community that offers one and two bedrooms for individuals ages 62 and over.
“There’s a growing demand in Montgomery County for senior housing because the population is aging,” said Lorraine Driscoll, a spokesperson for Montgomery County. “Last year, the County Executive held a summit on aging and housing affordability was one of the top concerns.”
Groundbreaking for the $20 million development began in December 2014 and completed in September 2016. There are 134 apartments.
Leggett is expected to be joined by County Councilmember Craig Rice and Oakwood Properties developer Joe Parreco, along with other representatives.
Churchill Senior Living Phase II, is the second part of an existing building of affordable housing. Phase I was built in 2001 with 120 additional units .
