Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for New Integrated Health Facility in Rockville Set for Jan. 5

Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett is expected to join county and state leaders for a ribbon-cutting and open house on Jan. 5 to unveil a new innovative facility in Rockville, according to a news release.
The Taft Force Project is a collaboration between three local nonprofits, CCI Health & Wellness Services, Cornerstone Montgomery and Interfaith Works, to offer expanded, coordinated services to their clients under one centralized location.
Staff stated since many of their clients typically face transportation limitations in seeking care, the co-location of services will address their client’s needs in a timely fashion.
“For clients to meet their appointment needs, some are on the bus for 4.5 hours a day to attend all of their appointments,” said Nicole Graner, spokesperson, Cornerstone Montgomery. “What this project does is bring all of the client’s needs under one roof so they can see their psychiatrist, therapist, job coach and dentist all upstairs from where they live.”
The innovative facility plans to serve more than 1,000 Montgomery County residents annually including 70 women residing on site at the Interfaith Works Women’s Center. The facilities will offer an integration of mental health services, primary health care and shelter services.
Leggett is expected to be joined by Maryland Lt. Governor Boyd Rutherford, Rockville Mayor Bridget Newton and other elected officials.
