Residents Invited to Comment on Parks Department’s Energized Public Spaces Plan
The Montgomery County Parks Department is inviting residents to a public hearing to comment on their needs and wants in public spaces throughout the County on July 27. The meeting will be held at the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission Regional Office Building Auditorium, 8787 Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring.
This public hearing is for the Parks Department’s 2017 Energized Public Spaces Functional Master Plan to help create outdoor spaces in the highest populated areas of the County where people of all ages and incomes can meet, play, relax, exercise and enjoy nature, according to a news release.
The Energized Public Spaces plan was created to help the Parks Department identify where parks are needed the most, propose funding sources to purchase new parkland and to prioritize funding.
Residents can review the draft of the Master Plan to give public testimony at the public hearing by clicking here.
Sign up to testify online or call 301.495.4605 by July 26.
