Residents in Trash/Recycling Areas Affected By Strike Advised to Put Items Out on Dec. 30

CRTW ep 189 recycle binsThe Montgomery County Division of Solid Waste Services (DSWS) reminds residents scheduled for trash and recycling collections in the areas affected by the strike at Unity Disposal and Recycling LLC, to put their trash and recyclables out by 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 30.

According to a DSWS news release, the trash company is still servicing its routes in Montgomery County and having items at curbside by 7 a.m. is also especially important at this time of year when trash and recycling collections are heavy due to the impact of the holidays.

Because of the heavy volume, trucks are running slower than normal, but DSWS officials said that service on all routes in the affected areas should be completed.

Residents in the impacted areas may call 311 with questions about their service and residents can view service information and maps at www.montgomerycountymd.gov/sws/strike.
