Residents Evacuated Near Ruptured Gas Line in Bethesda (Photos)
UPDATED, 4:15 p.m. – A ruptured gas line in Bethesda is under control by the gas company and firefighters are checking area buildings, but many local streets are still closed.
According to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Spokesman Pete Piringer, crews are cleaning up equipment from the scene by Montgomery Lane is still closed between Woodmont Avenue and Arlington Road.
UPDATED – Residents around the Montgomery Lane area of Bethesda are being evacuated after a gas line was ruptured in the area.
According to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Spokeman Pete Piringer, hazmat workers are on the scene of the “high pressure” break. Some roads are blocked in the area of Montgomery, Woodmont avenues and Arlingon Road. A construction crews broke the 2-inch line, Piringer said.
