Report: Maryland Offering Billions to Amazon

The Baltimore Sun is reporting that Maryland’s bid to lure Amazon’s new headquarters will be measured in the billions of dollars.

The story also says New Jersey has announced it’s bid will be $7 billion.

Gov. Larry Hogan has made no secret on where he thinks Amazon should relocate — he favors the Port Covington project in Baltimore. But he also said the state would support every jurisdiction’s effort to lure the online retail giant.

In addition to Montgomery and Baltimore city, Howard and Prince George’s counties are trying to win the Amazon site.

Montgomery County is in the hunt for the corporate complex. County Council spokesman Patrick Lacefield provided few details about Montgomery’s bid on Monday.
