Repairs on Rhode Island Avenue Are Complete

Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) crews have completed repairs to the 12-inch water main on Rhode Island Avenue in Hyattsville and all lanes are now open to traffic.

The closure was due to a break in a 73 year-old pipe that occurred on Thursday afternoon (July 31) in the 4800 block of Rhode Island Avenue.

WSSC officials estimate that approximately 6 million gallons of water was lost as a result of the break.
