To promote the wearing of masks in an effort to decrease the spread of COVID-19, U.S. Rep. Jamie Raskin is holding a Homemade Mask Contest for residents in his district.

“We must all do our part to keep ourselves and other people safe by vigilantly adhering to public health guidance,” he said in a July 20 newsletter.

Therefore, he wants his constituents “to contribute their creative skills and personal style to slow the spread of COVID-19 in our community and state.”

The masks must be original and not available for commercial purchase. They must be made of fabric and not include any company or commercial logo. They can’t endorse a political party or candidate. Only one entry per person.

Constituents will vote for their favorite masks on Raskin’s website. The winning mask “will be displayed proudly as a featured post on my social medial channels for all of Maryland to see!” he wrote.

The deadline for submittal is July 27. Tweet a photo to @RepRaskin or tag him at @RepRaskin in an Instagram or Facebook post or email Raskin at MD08photos@gmail.com. Include your name and city with the photo.
