Recreation Department to Close Indoor Pools in August For Maintenance and Repairs

Montgomery County’s Department of Recreation will close its four indoor swimming pools in the month of August for annual maintenance and repairs.

Here is a list of the closure dates:

• Olney Indoor Swim Center—Closed Aug. 7-27
• Germantown Indoor Swim Center—Closed Aug. 19-Sept, 4
• Kennedy Shriver Aquatic Center—Closed Aug. 21-Sept. 4
• MLK Jr. Aquatic Center—Closed Aug. 21-Sept. 4

Early bird lap swimming will be available at the Bethesda, Germantown and MLK outdoor pools from 6 to 8:30 a.m. on the weekdays from Aug. 21 through Sept. 1.

The recreation department’s seven outdoor pools will be open weekdays from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m and on weekends from noon to 8 p.m. through Aug. 18.
