Quince Orchard Park Tree Planting Meeting Set for Aug. 27

The city of Gaithersburg will host a community meeting on Aug. 27 to present and receive comment on a proposed reforestation project.

The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the Robertson Park Youth Center, 801 Rabbitt Road.

In effort to manage stormwater runoff into the Muddy Branch, community tree plantings are planned for the week of September 24 for various locations within the watershed in Quince Orchard Park.

City officials said the new trees will help reduce the amount of pollutants that enter the stream and will help provide additional filtration for runoff.
