Quince Orchard Library Branch Reopens (PHOTOS)

Montgomery County Public Libraries’ Quince Orchard branch has reopened.

The library, located at 15831 Quince Orchard Road in Gaithersburg, was closed due to renovations under the Library Refurbishment Level-of-Effort initiative in the County’s Capital Improvement Program.

Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett was joined by Montgomery County Council President Hans Riemer, County Councilmembers Sidney Katz and George Leventhal, and other county leaders along with residents for its grand reopening Saturday.

“It is a pleasure to reopen this refreshed Quince Orchard Branch,” said Leggett in a statement. “Providing quality facilities requires strong fiscal management and smart planning. The refresh model saves our residents tens of thousands of dollars and keeps our libraries in good repair.”

Improvements to the library include new flooring, renovated public restrooms, an improved book checkout and customer service area, enhancements to the meeting room, modern furniture, exterior accessibility (ADA) improvements and a new bike rack at the entrance.

The total cost for the renovated project was approximately $ 1.1 million.

Branch hours will be:

Monday through Thursday : 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Friday and Saturday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Sunday: 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
