The crowd went silent after Quince Orchard High School Quarterback Kendell “Doc” Bonner took a hard hit at Friday night’s 4A State Championship Football game against the Wise Pumas. Teammates surrounded Bonner as he lay on the field.

Bonner was taken off the field on a stretcher and transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

On Sunday, Bonner tweeted out an update and said he has returned home. Bonner thanked supporters for their well wishes and prayers.
