Public Hearings on Four CIP Projects

The Montgomery County Council will hold public hearings, at 1:30 p.m. on June 25, on four expedited bills regarding special capital improvements projects.

The four bills are:

· Expedited Bill 15-13, Special Capital Improvements Project – Ross Boddy Neighborhood Recreation Center. The bill would authorize the renovation of the Ross Boddy Neighborhood Recreation Center (Project No. 720919) in the Olney and Vicinity Planning Area.

· Expedited Bill 16-13, Special Capital Improvements Project – Universities at Shady Grove Expansion. This bill would authorize funds for the design and construction of a parking garage and related modifications at the Universities at Shady Grove campus (Project No. 151201) in the Gaithersburg Vicinity Planning Area.

· Expedited Bill 17-13, Special Capital Improvements Project – Dennis Avenue Health Center. This bill would authorize the planning, design and construction of a new building to replace the Dennis Avenue Health Center on the existing site adjoining the existing building located at 2000 Dennis Avenue in Silver Spring (Project No. 641106). It is in the Kensington-Wheaton Planning Area.

· Expedited Bill 18-13, Special Capital Improvements Project – Public Safety Training Academy (PSTA) Relocation. This bill would authorize the planning, design and construction of the PSTA (Project 471102) from its current location at the intersection of Great Seneca Highway and Darnestown Road to a site on Snouffer School Road (known as the Webb Tract) in the Gaithersburg Vicinity Planning Area.

The public hearings will be held in the Third Floor Hearing Room of the Council Office Building, which is located at 100 Maryland Avenue in Rockville. The meeting will be televised live by County Cable Montgomery (CCM—Cable Channel 6 on Comcast and RCN, Channel 30 on Verizon) and can be viewed via streaming through the County website at www.montgomerycountymd.gov
