Property Tax Exemptions Public Hearing Set for Sept. 9

The Montgomery County Council will hold a public hearing at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept 9, on Expedited Bill 37-14 that would exempt from a certain provision of the real property transfer tax certain transfers of rezoned property located in an area designated as an “enterprise zone.” The bill also would repeal archaic and obsolete language and references, and make conforming and stylistic changes, as it would generally amend County law regarding the real property transfer tax.

The public hearing will be held in the Third Floor Hearing Room of the Council Office Building, which is located at 100 Maryland Avenue in Rockville. The meeting will be televised live by County Cable Montgomery (CCM—Cable Channel 6 on Comcast and RCN, Channel 30 on Verizon) and can be viewed via streaming through the County website at www.montgomerycountymd.gov.
