Power 2 Give Launches (Video)

Supporters of local arts organizations joined Suzan Jenkins, Chief Executive Officer of The Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County (AHCMC), at the Round House Theater on June 12 to officially launch a new fund raising tool called Power 2 Give.

The goal is to attract new donors who may not have considered giving to the arts before, and empower them to select a project, make a donation, and then share with friends. Local corporate sponsors, such as Monument Bank, match every dollar with a $0.50 donation.

MyMCMedia’s Tamika Smith reports.

Donations of any amount between $1 and $10,000 are accepted and are given to support a specific project.

The power2give.org site allows everyone to track each project and details the number of days remaining, amount donated so far, and the percentage of the goal attained. Most projects offer “donor benefits.”
