Power Outage Reported in Montgomery Village

UPDATED, Sept. 23, 10:53 a.m.- A Pepco spokesman said there is an equipment failure on one of the main lines in the area and crews are headed to the scene of the outage Wednesday.

More than 1,000 Pepco customers are without power in the Montgomery Village area Wednesday.

According to the Pepco outage map, power went out for 1,141 customers at about 10 a.m. and it should be restored by 2 p.m. The affected areas are around Woodfield and Snouffer School and Brink roads, according to the map.

The cause of the outage was not immediately available.
