Thirteen Montgomery County Public School Students (MCPS) are recipients of full-tuition, four-year scholarships awarded by the Posse Foundation.

According to a news release, the students were honored at a ceremony held at the Lincoln Theatre in Washington, DC.  Donna Redmond Jones, principal at Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School, says the Posse Program provides students with great opportunities.

“Beyond attending school tuition free, Posse is really about providing students with a strong network of support—from before they arrive at college to well after they graduate,” Jones said.

Kimberly Boldon, acting principal at Thomas S. Wootton High School also celebrated students success. “I am so proud of our students,” Boldon says. “They epitomize excellence in academics, perseverance and hard work.”

The Posse Program is located in 10 different regions and 55 colleges and universities offer full-tuition scholarships and create multicultural teams called-Posses-on each campus. These student teams are provided professional guidance before and throughout college.
