he Town of Poolesville invites area residents to its annual Holiday Lighting Ceremony, set for Friday, Dec. 5 at 6 p.m. in Whalen Commons, at 19701 Fisher Avenue in Poolesville. Town officials and community members have an exciting line-up of winter wonderland festivities planned for the evening, which are sure to be fun for the whole family.
The festivities will include the following:

“We’re pleased to be able to provide the community with this festive ceremony each year and want to offer our thanks to all those involved in putting it together,” said Jim Brown, President of the Poolesville Town Commission. “This event is a continuation of our efforts to deliver quality experiences and outreach endeavors that celebrate the unique character and vitality of Poolesville as a small town, and we hope everyone will come out with us to celebrate.”
In order to ensure that the celebration will also benefit area families in need, Poolesville also urges event attendees to bring a new, unwrapped toy to support Western Upper Montgomery County Help, Inc. (WUMCO). The toys will be distributed to local children in need.
Food and refreshments will be available for purchase, including items such as country ham sandwiches, homemade soups, and funnel cakes. For more information, visit the Town of Poolesville’s new website.
