Poolesville Day Set for September 19
Get ready for a morning parade, car show, rides, games, foods, and live music at the annual Poolesville Day celebration set for Sept. 19.
It is the event’s 23rd edition and Poolesville Town Commission officials said it is the community’s “biggest” event of the year.
“It is a great time each year for our town to shine and showcase the pride we have in our town,” said Jim Brown, President of the Poolesville Town Commission.
According to a news release, the event is scheduled to take place along Fisher Avenue with the main stage and other activities being held at Whalen Commons, in front of Poolesville Town Hall.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and more than 10,000 people from all over the county are expected to attend. The festivity kicks off with the Hometown Poolesville Parade followed by a 5K run.
“So many of our community members have put hours and hours of work into making this event a success and we look forward to welcoming a record-breaking crowd again this year to enjoy the best of Poolesville,” Brown said.
The MJW Fest Car Show will be another highlight of the day. The show is benefiting the Matthew J Williquette scholarship at Montgomery College. Children will be able to enjoy amusement rides, moon bounce, pony rides, face painting, skate contest and more.
Local musicians, school, and community groups are scheduled to perform. More than 150 artisans, exhibitors, service and food vendors are expected at Poolesville Day.
