Montgomery County police have released a surveillance photo of a man who committed a sex offense on a Ride On bus in hopes the public can help identify him.

About 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 30, a 17-year-old girl told officers that she boarded the bus at the Twinbrook Metro and took a seat in the back. The man, who was already seated at the front of the bus, then moved to sit next to her, according to a statement from police.

After a brief conversation, the man then touched her inappropriately and exposed himself to her, police said.  When the bus stopped at Randolph Road and Dalewood Drive, the victim reported the incident to the bus driver, who then contacted the police, police said. As the bus remained stopped, the man left the bus and retrieved a bicycle that he had brought on the bus with him, police said. He was last seen riding the bicycle south on Dalewood Drive from Randolph Road.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect or who has information about this incident is asked to call police at 240-773-5530. Crime Solvers of Montgomery County is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for any information that leads to an arrest. Tipsters, who may remain anonymous, can call Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).
