Police Say Family Found of Man Killed in Crash with Bus
Update: Police say they have found a family member of Luis Enrique Gonzales-Saravia.
Original post: Police are asking the public’s help in finding the family of a man who died in a wreck with a Ride On bus Saturday.
The man is Luis Enrique Gonzales-Saravia, 23, of an unknown address, police said.
The crash occurred about 8:30 p.m. at Rockville Pike and Halpine Road, police said. The bus, traveling northbound, had stopped for a traffic light and the car, a northbound 1995 Honda Accord, hit the bus.
Gonzalez-Saravia died from the injuries he suffered when his car rear-ended the bus, police said.
The bus driver was Donnett Marsha Lawrence, 48, of Crabbs Branch Way in Derwood, police said. She was not injured. Her three passengers also were uninjured, police said.
Detectives have been unable to find any of Gonzales-Saravia’s family members and are asking anyone with information to call detectives at 240-773-6620.
Gonzales-Saravia is believed to be from El Salvador based on documents found in his vehicle, police said. His last known home, about a month ago, was on Terry Drive in Derwood. He worked for a landscaping company in Gaithersburg for the last two to three months, police said.
He has possible ties to New York City based on papers in his vehicle.
