Police Search for Stabbing Suspects
Gaithersburg police are investigating an aggravated assault that occurred in the Olde Towne Gaithersburg area at 2 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16.
That’s when police said an officer was patrolling in the 200 block of East Diamond Avenue when a citizen flagged him down stating that he was stabbed by a group of unknown males.
As officers were investigating the complaint, a call was dispatched for a second victim who was stabbed in the area of Brookes Avenue and Park Avenue, according to police.
Both victims sustained non-life threatening injuries and were transported to area hospitals for additional medical care.
Preliminary investigation indicates that both victims are known to each other and were at a local restaurant in Olde Towne. Police said both victims were approached by three unknown Hispanic males who began a verbal conversation with the victims.
According to police, at some point, one of the Hispanic males brandished a knife and stabbed both victims. Detectives continue to investigate this crime and are in the process of attempting to confirm details.
