Police Search for Bank Robber(s) (Photos & Video)

Montgomery County police are investigating two bank robberies that recently occurred at two PNC banks.
One robbery occurred on Dec. 2 in Rockville, and another robbery occurred on Dec. 4 in Bethesda. Detectives believe that the same suspect may be responsible for both robberies.
On Dec. 2, at approximately 1:55 p.m., 1st District officers responded to the PNC Bank located inside of the Giant Foods store at 12051 Rockville Pike.
Police said the suspect entered the bank, approached the teller, and presented a note demanding money. According to police, the suspect implied that he was armed with a gun, but the gun was not displayed. The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and exited the bank, police said.
Police released this suspect description: “black male, 30 to 40 years old, 5’8″ to 5’10″ tall, and weighing 180 to 210 pounds. He was wearing a gray scarf, a red jacket, a dark-colored hat, and sunglasses.”

On. Dec. 4, at approximately 9:50 a.m., 2nd District officers responded to the PNC Bank located at 10211 Old Georgetown Road.
Police said the suspect entered the bank, approached the teller, and presented a note demanding money. The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and exited the bank, according to police.
Police released this suspect description: “black male, 30 to 40 years old, 5’8″ to 5’10″ inches tall, and weighing 160 to 180 pounds. He was wearing a red jacket, a Redskins scarf, a black hat, and tan boots.”
Detectives have released surveillance photos of the suspect from the Dec. 2nd bank robbery and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying him.
