Police Say Woman Raped Near Frederick Road in Rockville

A woman was raped just before midnight Oct. 2 as she was walking along Frederick Road in Rockville, a Montgomery County police statement said Wednesday.

The woman said she was walking on the sidewalk near West Gude Drive when a man physically assaulted her, forced her to a wooded area and sexually assaulted her, police said.

During the assault, the woman was able to break free from the man, police said. She ran to a nearby office building and called a security guard for help. Montgomery County officers from the Rockville police district, Rockville city police, and fire and rescue personnel responded about 12:11 a.m., police said.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries and remains hospitalized.

The man is described as a white or light-complexioned with short hair, about 6 feet tall, and weighs about 155 pounds, police said.
