Police Request Help in Locating Suspects in Multiple Silver Spring Car Thefts

Montgomery County Police is asking for the public’s help in identifying suspects linked to 21 car thefts in Silver Spring.

Police released the surveillance photographs of the three male suspects in the thefts.

The crimes occurred in the Central Business District of Silver Spring in multiple parking garages during the evening of Dec. 22.

The suspects were reported breaking into a vehicle in a parking garage on Ellsworth Drive. A witness called police, but the suspects fled the scene before officers arrived.

The surveillance photos are of the suspects in Ellsworth Place Mall in downtown Silver Spring, prior to the thefts.

Detectives believe that the suspects are involved in all or some of the 21 car thefts.

Anyone with information regarding these suspects is asked to call the 3rd District Patrol Investigations Unit at 240-773-6830. To be eligible for a reward, tipsters may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477) or submit a Crime Solvers tip online or via the app.

Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to the arrest and/or indictment of this suspect.  Tipsters will remain anonymous.
