Germantown District detectives have surveillance video that shows what they believe to be two men who were connected with a Dec. 12 shooting outside a McDonald’s restaurant in the 19600 block of Gunners Branch Road, a Montgomery County police statement said.

The video, from a business in the same block, has been released in hopes the public can help identify the men, police said.

About 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, dispatchers received multiple calls about two men who had been shot in the area of the 19600 block of Gunners Branch Road.

Upon arrival, first responders found the two victims inside the McDonalds, police said. The two victims had fled, seeking shelter in the restaurant, police said. A 26-year-old male man suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body and a 27-year-old male was suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower body, police said. Both victims were taken to an area hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries, police said.

This remains an active investigation. Detectives believe that this was not a random event and there is some prior association between the alleged assailants and the victims.
