Montgomery County police have released surveillance images of an Aug. 28 armed robbery of a 7-Eleven in the Fairland area in hopes the public can identify the culprits.

The robbery occurred about 1:30 a.m. Aug. 28 at the 7-Eleven at 13880 Old Columbia Pike, according to a police statement.

Silver Spring District officers responded to the store for the report of an armed robbery that had just occurred.

Police said a man entered the store, went to the counter and told an employee he wanted to buy an item that was on display behind the counter, police said. When the employee opened the register to ring up the sale, the suspect produced a handgun and demanded money, police said. The employee complied with the suspect’s demands. The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and fled toward Briggs Chaney Road, police said.

Anyone with information regarding the man or the armed robbery is asked to call the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5100. Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest in this case.
