Bethesda police district detectives have released surveillance images from a July 19 burglary in Bethesda in hopes someone recognizes the culprit.

About 3 p.m. Thursday, July 19, a man had his wallet and keys stolen from an unsecured area of the Kennedy Shriver Aquatic Center, 5900 Executive Blvd., Rockville, police said.

About 3:40 p.m. that afternoon, a family member returned to the victim’s Westlake Drive home and discovered that several items, including jewelry, had been stolen from the home, police said.

Investigators reviewed surveillance video from the victim’s apartment building and saw the man enter the victim’s building about 3:15 p.m.  Detectives determined that the man used the victim’s stolen house key to enter the apartment.

Investigators also determined that the same man was also seen on surveillance video at the aquatic center during the same time period that victim had his wallet and house keys stolen, police said.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect or has information about the burglary is asked to call the Bethesda police district Investigative Section at 240-773-6710.

Tipsters also may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477) or enter a tip online.  Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest or indictment. Tipsters will remain anonymous.
