Police Release Surveillance Image from Wheaton Bank Robbery

Montgomery County police said Friday a man robbed a Capital One bank in Wheaton on Thursday and detectives are releasing a surveillance photograph of the suspect in hopes that someone can identify him.

About 11 a.m., a man handed a teller a note demanding money, police said. The bank is at 11241 Georgia Ave. The man received an undisclosed amount of cash and fled, police said.

Anyone with information about the man or the bank robbery is asked to call the Montgomery County Police Department – Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5100.

Tipsters may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to the arrest or indictment of this suspect. Tipsters will remain anonymous.
