Police Release Surveillance Footage of Man Involved in Derwood Bank Robbery

Police have released surveillance footage of a man involved in a robbery at Bank of America in Derwood. They are asking for the public’s help in identifying the man.

According to police, the robbery occurred on Thursday, Jan. 24 in the morning. Gaithersburg police responded to the incident at 10:18 a.m.

Police say that a man approached a Bank of America teller with a loaded handgun and demanded money. The man “obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and fled from the bank,” according to police.

Investigators have released surveillance footage of the man involved in the robbery, and video footage from a “nearby neighborhood” showing the man driving away from the scene.

The video shows the man driving a “white GMH U-Haul van with distinctive graphics and wording.”
